- Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States (open to both undergraduate and graduate students in any field of study).
- Academic Standing: All years of study are welcome – whether you’re a freshman just starting out or a graduate student, you are eligible as long as you are actively enrolled during the application period.
- Nationality: No specific citizenship requirements. International students may apply if they are studying at a U.S.-based institution.
Essay Requirement
- Essay Prompt : Do you believe entrepreneurs are born or made? Share your own journey. What moment made you realize you weren’t wired to follow — but to create? How have you shown that spark, even when the odds or others told you not to?
Guidelines for the Essay: Your essay should be a personal narrative that reflects your own thoughts and experiences. We are excited to read about what ignites your entrepreneurial spirit. Be honest and be yourself – there’s no single “right” answer. However, the work must be your own original writing. No AI-generated content or plagiarism is allowed. We want to hear your voice and story. Essays will be evaluated on originality, clarity of expression, and how well you address the prompt.
- Length: 500 to 700 words, in English.
- Format: Save your essay as a PDF file for upload (ensure your name or identifying info is on the essay document as well).
- Originality: Essays must be written by you. Submissions will be checked for plagiarism and AI-generation. Any essay that is not genuinely your work will be disqualified.
- Tip: Focus on specific moments and examples from your life that show your initiative, creativity, or leadership. We value storytelling – let your passion shine through your words!
Timeline & Selection Process
- Review Period: February 1–10, 2026—A committee will review all eligible applications. Essays are read and evaluated based on insightfulness, authenticity, and creativity. The review team is excited to hear your story and vision; we’re not just looking for writing skills, but the passion and potential behind your words.
- Award Disbursement: The $1,000 award will be sent to the winner shortly after announcement. The funds can be used toward tuition, books, or other education-related expenses. (We may coordinate with your school’s financial aid office or send the funds directly as needed. The winner will receive instructions upon being selected.)
If you are selected as the Next Founder Scholarship winner, we might request a profile photo and a brief bio or quote to feature in our announcement. We love highlighting our winners and their stories to inspire others!
Important Notes:
- By submitting an application, you agree to the use of your name and essay excerpts for scholarship promotion (for example, we may share a snippet of your inspiring story when announcing the winner). Don’t worry – we will never share personal contact information publicly.
- If the selected winner cannot be reached within 7 days of the announcement, or is found to be ineligible, we reserve the right to select an alternate winner.
- This scholarship is a one-time award. Non-winners are welcome to reapply in the next year’s cycle. We encourage you to try again, as your experiences and ideas will continue to grow.
